How to Let a Website Use Your Camera and Microphone Again in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11

What you need: A Windows 11 computer and the website you blocked from using your camera and microphone, such as the website you use for video calls.

Before you begin: Open that website in Microsoft Edge, the way you usually reach it. Choosing Allow in these steps lets that website use your camera and microphone without asking you each time.

Steps

  1. Click the small lock at the left end of the address bar, the long box across the top of Microsoft Edge, in the row below the tabs. A small box about the website opens.
  2. Click Permissions for this site. A list of the website's permissions appears, including Camera and Microphone.
  3. Find Camera. Click the menu beside it, then click Allow.
  4. Find Microphone. Click the menu beside it, then click Allow.
  5. Check that Allow is shown beside Camera and beside Microphone.
  6. Click the website's tab at the top of Microsoft Edge. Then click the circular arrow to the left of the address bar. If a box asks Reload site?, click Reload. The website's page loads again.

Expected result: Allow is shown beside Camera and Microphone for that website. After its page loads again, the website can use your camera and microphone, such as when you join your video call again.
