How to Select Words by Dragging on a Chromebook
What you need: A Chromebook that you have signed in to, with its built-in touchpad. An internet connection.
Steps
- Click Launcher, the circle at the lower-left corner of the screen. To click, slide one finger on the touchpad to move the pointer onto it, then press the lower half of the touchpad once and let go.
- Type Chrome, then click Chrome in the results.
- Click the long address bar at the top of Chrome. Type stepsonscreen.com, then press the Enter key on the right side of the keyboard.
- Move the pointer so that it is just in front of the first letter of a word in a line of plain words.
- Press down on the lower half of the touchpad with one finger. Keep pressing while you slide that finger along the line, across a few words, then lift it.
Expected result: The words you moved across are highlighted with a colored background.
