How to Find the Launcher, Shelf and Time on a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook that you have signed in to, with its built-in touchpad.

Steps

1. Look along the bottom of the screen for a row of small pictures of apps. This is the shelf. If you do not see it, move the pointer to the very bottom edge of the screen and keep it there until the shelf slides up.
2. Find Launcher, the circle at the left end of the shelf, in the lower-left corner of the screen. Click it: move the pointer onto it, then press the lower half of the touchpad once and let go. A search box and pictures of apps appear.
3. Click Launcher again to close them.
4. Find the time in the lower-right corner of the screen. Click it. A panel opens with controls such as the volume and Settings, shown as a gear.
5. Click the time again to close the panel.

Expected result: You found the shelf, opened and closed the Launcher, and opened and closed the panel by the time.
