What you need: A Chromebook and all or part of the file's name, such as budget. These steps search My files, which holds Downloads.

Steps

  2. Type Files, then click Files in the results to open it.
  3. On the left, click My files.
  4. Click the magnifying glass at the upper right of Files. A search box opens.
  5. Type all or part of the file's name, then press Enter.
  6. Look through the names in the list. When you see your file, double-click it by clicking twice quickly on its name.

Expected result: The list shows files whose names match what you typed. If your file was in the list, it is now open.
