How to Create a Folder on a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook. You choose where the new folder goes, such as in Downloads.

Steps

  1. Click Launcher, the circle at the lower-left corner of the screen.
  2. Type Files, then click Files in the results to open it.
  3. On the left, click where you want the new folder, such as Downloads (under My files) or My Drive (under Google Drive). To open a folder inside it, double-click that folder: click its name twice quickly. Continue until the folder where you want the new folder is open.
  4. Move the pointer onto an empty part of the list of files, away from the names. Press the touchpad with two fingers together, then lift them. A menu opens. Click New folder.
  5. A new folder appears, ready for its name. Type the name you want and press Enter.

Expected result: The new folder appears, with the name you typed, in the place you opened.
