How to Shut Down a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook that is turned on.

Before you begin: Save your work and close your documents. Shutting down closes your apps and turns the computer off.

Steps

1. Click the time in the lower-right corner of the screen. A panel opens.
2. Click the power symbol, a circle with a short line at the top.
3. In the menu, click Shut down.
4. Wait for the screen to go dark and the Chromebook to turn off.

Expected result: The Chromebook is off and its screen is dark.
