How to See the Password You Typed on a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook, a website sign-in page in Chrome with an eye symbol or Show beside its password box, and the password you want to type.

Before you begin: Your password will be visible on screen. Make sure nobody else can see it.

Steps

1. On the sign-in page, find the password box.
2. Click the password box and type your password. The characters normally appear as dots.
3. Click the eye symbol or Show beside the password box. The characters appear.
4. Check the characters. To correct one, click immediately after it, press Backspace, at the right end of the row of numbers, once to remove it, and type the correct character.
5. Click the same control again (the eye symbol or Hide) to hide the characters. The characters appear as dots again.

Expected result: You have checked the password and hidden it again.
