Computer word

What Does Move Mean?

To move a file is to change the folder or drive where it is kept. After the move finishes, the file is in its destination rather than its previous folder.

What it looks like

Two rows each show a Documents folder, an arrow and a USB drive folder. In the Copy row the page stays in Documents and a copy is in the USB drive. In the Move row only a dashed outline is left in Documents, and the page is in the USB drive.

The bottom row shows the file gone from its original folder and present in its new folder. The top row shows copy, which keeps an original in the previous folder too.
