Computer word

What Does Copy Mean?

To copy a file is to make a second copy while keeping the original where it is. You can then change either copy separately.

What it looks like

Two rows each show a Documents folder, an arrow and a USB drive folder. In the Copy row the page stays in Documents and a copy is in the USB drive. In the Move row only a dashed outline is left in Documents, and the page is in the USB drive.

The top row shows the original staying in its folder and the copy appearing in the destination. The bottom row shows move, which changes the file’s location instead.
