What Does Double-Click Mean?
To double-click is to press the mouse button twice quickly, without moving the pointer between the two presses. On a computer, a double-click usually opens a file, folder or app. One click usually highlights it instead.
What it looks like
You use the left mouse button, or the touchpad or trackpad, for both presses. The two presses need to come close together; if they are too slow, the computer counts them as two separate clicks. Double-clicking a word in a document or on a web page highlights that word.
