How to Stop Notifications from a Website in Google Chrome on Windows 11
What you need: A Windows 11 computer with Google Chrome, and an unwanted notification that shows Google Chrome at its top and a website address, such as example.com.
Before you begin: Read the website address on the notification without clicking the notification. If the notification has gone, click the date and time at the right end of the taskbar. Your recent notifications are listed there.
Steps
- Click Start (the Windows logo) on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
- Type Google Chrome, then click Google Chrome in the search results to open it.
- Click the three dots standing one above the other in the upper-right corner of Chrome, then click Settings. Settings opens in a new tab.
- Click Privacy and security in the list on the left. If you do not see a list on the left, click the button with three short lines at the top left of Settings first.
- Click Site settings.
- Click Notifications. The Notifications page opens.
- Scroll down to Allowed to send notifications. Under it, find the address that contains the website address from the notification, such as https://example.com:443.
- Click the three dots at the right end of that address, then click Block.
- Check that the address now appears under Not allowed to send notifications. Close the Settings tab using the small X on that tab.
Expected result: The website's address is listed under Not allowed to send notifications. New notifications from that website will stop.
