How to Close a Window on a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook with the window you want to close on the screen.

Before you begin: Save any work you want to keep in the window. Closing it can discard unsaved work. Closing a Chrome window also closes all the tabs in it.

Steps

  1. Look at the upper-right corner of the window. Three buttons sit side by side: a short line, a middle button, and an X.
  2. Click the X. The window closes, or a message about unsaved changes appears.
  3. If a message asks about unsaved changes, click Cancel. The window stays open with your work in it, so you can save your work before you close it.

Expected result: The window is no longer on the screen, or, if you clicked Cancel, it is still open with your work in it.
