How to Change the Volume on a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook.

Steps

1. Click the time in the lower-right corner of the screen. A panel opens.
2. Find the volume slider, the bar beside the speaker symbol. Clicking the speaker symbol itself turns the sound off; if that happens, click it again to turn the sound back on.
3. Move the pointer onto the volume slider. Press down on the lower half of the touchpad with one finger. Keep pressing while you slide that finger right for louder sound or left for quieter sound, then lift it.
4. Click the time again to close the panel.

Expected result: The volume is at the level you chose, and the slider in the panel by the time shows that level.
