How to Change the Desktop Picture on a Chromebook

What you need: A Chromebook.

Steps

  1. Find an empty area of the desktop, the background behind your open windows. If windows cover it, hide each window by clicking the short line near its upper-right corner. Each hidden window stays on the shelf, and clicking its picture there brings it back.
  2. Move the pointer onto the empty desktop. Press the touchpad with two fingers together, then lift them. A menu opens.
  3. Click Set wallpaper & style, then click Wallpaper. On a Chromebook, the desktop picture is called the wallpaper.
  4. Click a group of pictures, such as Radiance, then click the picture you want. The desktop changes to that picture.
  5. Close the wallpaper window by clicking the X at its upper-right corner.

Expected result: Your chosen picture appears on the desktop.
